Announced on 20th April – The Wing commander Shantanu is going to play in Paralympics qualifiers from India after recovering from a major injury.
The sports department of India revealed the news that current IAF officer Shantanu is going to play from India in Oceania continental or we can say Paralympics qualifiers. This May is going to organize Paralympics 2021in Tokyo. He started playing in 2019 and after that became the first to represent India in Paraplegic which was held in South Korea. He also earned the 5th position. In 2017 he faced a spinal cord injury. After that, he was sent to Pune for aquatic therapy and hydrotherapy.
There he chose swimming and later on played state-level championship and won two gold medals. He is the true inspiration for those who are lacking confidence in themselves.
