1. The $2.9 million tweet:
For how much can a tweet be sold? Guess! No, you are guessing very low. A tweet recently got into the headlines after being auctioned at $2.9 million.
It's a tweet by none other than the CEO of Twitter himself, Jack Dorsey. The first ever tweet on twitter recently auctioned at a whopping $2.9 million.
The tweet saying ‘just setting up my twitter’ has been bought by Bridge Oracle CEO, Sina Estavi as a non- fungible token(NFT) in a recently held digital auction. Dorsey earlier tweeted that the proceeds would be converted into bitcoin and be given to non profit ‘Give Directly’s Africa response. The charity organisation is currently raising money to support African families who were financially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
2. Safai Sundays:
Youngsters are always blamed for not being responsible enough. Its time to change your myth. These youngsters from Surat has taken an outstanding initiative to keep the city clean. Under the name ‘Project Surat’, they have started this initiative to clean the water bodies and sweep the city streets every Sunday. The NGO works for an eco friendly smart city and encourages residents to spend their Sunday mornings ‘responsibly’.
“In the past nine weeks we have collected over 2.5 tonnes of garbage under this movement. We are eager to do more for all public spots.”, said Naimesh Jariwala, a core member of Project Surat.
For the next Safai Sundays, the team is promoting a mega campaign through which 15 spots have been identified so that people residing in the closest proximity can reach to their preferred location and volunteer for cleanliness drive.
